Well...we made one last visit to River Ranch before the summer ended.
I took my camera on the float trip (in a watersafe bag) and met a GIGANTIC group of guys from my hometown, Olathe...they were celebrating a Bachelors Party, so I gave them some camera lovin'. NOW...these guys had been drinking and I didn't have business cards so HOW SHOCKED was I to see that they remembered my website URL and contacted me yesterday. I'm so glad they did...I really wanted them to have these pictures. SO CUTE!
The bachelor is the one looking awfully nervous on top of his buddies shoulders.
First time in about TEN years, we tipped our canoe (sorry, no pictures there...had my camera in the bag). AND it wasn't a "GOOD" tip (you know, the kind where you watch the humorous chaos of a bunch of drunkin fools trying to grab their beers before drifting away from the canoe). We had a "BAD" tip to where we hit a bunch of branches in the middle of the river and our canoes (two tied together) caved in on each other...which trapped us. I was actually a little scared for a minute because we couldn't break free and, since I was in front, both my legs were pinned and I had the river current putting MAD pressure from the canoes on my legs...OUCH!!! Luckily, a bunch of HEROS on the shore rushed to our rescue and helped free us.
These are my HEROS of the day.
This is a picture of one of the HEROS preparing for the next tree victims. I think while we were on shore we saw three people get caught there.
The look of pride from this rescuer....also a Captain fan. :)
And what would my blog post be without embarrassing someone. Here is my rockstar sister lookin' super HOT the next morning. I LOVE YOU, AMANDA! I would have put one on of my friend Melissa, equally glamorous, but I feared for my children growing up motherless. :)
This was just a cool picture I did at a gas station on the way back home.
We stopped at a Shoney's for breakfast on the way back and they had some lil stuffed Spongebob toys...so I picked the two to photograph to represent my husband and me. Can you guess which one I am?
OH! And need I NOT forget to mention that my sister accidentally locked our keys in the car while we were eating. NICE! This is a pic of the locksmith checking out our car. Matt was the one who went out to talk to him...and I didn't see him check ID or anything, so I was planning on going out there and screaming "HEY, THAT'S MY CAR! I'M CALLING THE COPS!" just to mess with him...but he was a quick car-breaker-inner. Didn't get a chance.
So that was my eventful weekend...just thought I'd share a few of the highlights.

On Friday I was noticing that Niki's pants had turned into capris and her shirts were starting to show her belly. WOW! A couple extra inches taller...When did that happen?
So then it started to sink in that I wasn't spending enough time with her...so I dedicated Friday to Niki. I asked her what she wanted to do first and she wanted to play Pirates. So we had six quarters (our "Treasure") and we made a map (with "X" marking the "treasure"), and had a telescope to help find our way. It was lots of fun.
Then she told me a story about how her panda-bear was attacked by a Lion and now it has a boo-boo...so she decided to play "doctor". With her super-high-tech medical supplies (scotch tape)...she was able to restore her panda back to good health. :)

I love her innocent spirit. She is my inspiration to always be playful.

Today I eagerly attended the AltF seminar, part of the VeryAltF tour. You may have seen their world famous image of the Bride on set on fire (which she wasn't really...so harm done). Truely talented and creative photographers....and today at the seminar, it was basically the A-List Kansas City photographers attending (Jason Domingues, PhotoMomentos, Sarah Rimel, LemonLime, and many more). Even Heather Cole showed up as I was leaving and I got to met her in person...which I've always wanted to because she's been a huge inspiration for the past year.
Here's a shot of John Michael Cooper in action...doin' his thang.
Here we all are, soaking it all in.
Some of the creative fun we had with our model bride.
AltF's seminar today was hosted by Jason Domingues ( http://www.dominguesphotography.com/ )...one of extreme skills. His studio was eye-popping and attention grabbing.
I learned several things from my experience with AltF and the other fantastic photographers. Walking away, I have new inspiration, new goals, and maybe even some new friendships. What more could I ask for?!
If any other photographers are interested in attending their other workshops, you can find more info out at their website: http://www.altf.com/
Here's some more websites of some of the other photographers (sorry, didn't catch all of their websites/names) :

OOOOooooooooWWWeeeee!!! My camera was a happy-camper today (opps, I mean yesterday...it's really late)! I spent pretty much the whole day photographing the sweet & saucy Jordan. She not only is probably the one of the most beautiful people I've met, but she's also a blast to photograph. She likes the crazy-funny shots as much as I do.

How sweet is this wall?!?!
What you can't see in this pic is the crazy guy to the right of the pole who is hitting on my lovely senior. Jordan will agree with me when I say, we had quite the adventure today.

hehehehe

This has to be a close tie for my favorite shot of the day. Thanks to a total stranger who was extremely kind to let us use his loft & rooftop for the picture. If you are reading this Jarod.....TTTHHHAAANNNKKKSS!
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT
I thought this one had an oldschool hollywood feel to it.

Pucker up, baby!
I went to go have her hold my zebra card to start some pictures and she was convinced that it looked like she was being arrested...and I would have to agree. BAD GIRL, BAD GIRL, WHAT YOU GONNA DO, WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN I PHOTOGRAPH YOU...

Classy lady
OH my, I should be tucked in bed...but I got distracted by all of the super-fabulous pics of Jordan. I definitely had me a goooooooood day.

Robert & Lisa just had their second baby boy last night...and since I was in the area, I thought I might go get me another baby-fix.
Lisa was refreshed, showered, and beautiful when I showed up...definitely not how she is supposed to look after just giving birth. It's just not fair!

Ok, so Robert resisted a photo for a second, but I'm so glad he gave in...I think this shot is soooo sweet.
Thanks for letting me stop by for a visit. I hope you get plenty of rest.
Congratulations on the beautiful baby. You did good.

I think today was the IDEAL day for a family portrait session. The weather was perfect, there was sun and some clouds, and a happy family. The recipe for a great photo session.
This is Brandon & Charis Grosdidier and their two terrific kids, Makayla & Daniel (really hope I spelled those right...let me know Charis).

HOW CUTE IS THIS PICTURE!?!
Ok, I got these lollie-pops a few months ago, EAGERLY waiting for the right photo opp...and this was IT! And these two definitely deserved the tasty treat...they were AWESOME for the whole session.

I think this is my favorite picture of them all...I love all of them, but I always tend to lean closest to the pic that makes me laugh the most.
Thanks guys! Hope you like your "teaser". ;)
