Christmas Morning. We told the kids they were not allowed to wake up until 6:30a or after. We were awake at 6:31a.
This is the final product of 52 minutes of messing with that Cupcake maker. How nice of Santa.
Tate says "It's deer hunting season!"
And Niki's toy reindeer poops a chocolate candy he's so scared. hahaha
We didn't get to go drive all over KC to celebrate 4 Christmases (yea, like the movie)...because we got snowed it. So, it was a snowday!
My mom's side of the family was able to make it over to my place a couple days later.

Every parent loves going to these after school gatherings for long lines, spilled drinks, total confusion & chaos, loud music echoing off the gym walls that you can't even discern a tune, and the constant search for one of your kids in a sea of kids that look alike. ...right? hahahaha I will admit that even thinking about these things makes me want to take an aspirin, but the kids love it so...why not.
We went to cookies with Santa at the school a few weeks ago, and it was pandemonium. You would think that since I'm a PTA member, volunteer on Wednesdays, and have a son who has been attending this school for the past 4 years that I would know what to do...but no. I saw a line formed in front of the stage where Santa was sitting...so naturally, I think "let's get in line". We waited patiently for about 40 minutes, line not really moving, before I finally went to investigate. Apparently, we were supposed to go to the front entrance of the school and sign in, receive a #, and wait for our # to be called to see Santa. Hummm. It's ok though...we got to go have cookies while we waited another 35 minutes. :)
Here's a couple videos of me trying to prep the kids for Santa so that they wouldn't take up too much time.

Also, about a month ago, Matt and I were running around the KC area doing shoots when we drove past an alley way that had a bright ORANGE wall. Did I mention I like Orange? So, after doing several right hand turns (one way streets drive me nuts), we stopped, jumped out, did some craziness, and drove off happy as could be. :)

Friday I was originally supposed to go up flying with my Stepdad, Jeff, and try out my hand at aerial photography...but it was gloomy out. So we sort of spontaneously made up for it yesterday afternoon...and I brought along the hubby & kiddos. Of course, being as Matt and Jeff are both over 6 feet, that put me in the back seat...crammed with both kids. Hummm...didn't think that one out too well. It was fun despite the absence of space. I got some pretty cool shots, I got to freak out Matt (in denial that he fears heights), and make the kids motion sick. haha :)

I thought this was HILARIOUS! Some guy saw Tate swinging lazily and wanted to "school" him on how to really use a swing. Not bad, I say. He got good height. I give it an 8.5

Last week went to my Dad and Step-Mom's house to visit for a grand dinner...in celebration of having my step-bro, Matt (I know, confusing having multiple Matt's in the same family) coming to town for a visit. He and his girlfriend are expecting a baby, I think in December. This is a shot of Kim and Matt...precious. :)
This is my "Brother Bear" as my dad calls him.
And this is a sight I NEVER EVER EVER saw growing up...so I had to catch the glorious moment. That's right... My Dad. Yellow Rubber Gloves. Dish work. Unbelievable. haha My sisters are gonna get a kick out of this one, for sure!
And this is a quick shot of Kim's published work: Leap of Faith. She's a talented and passionate romantic/action/suspense writer...who has finally pushed her writing out of the way long enough to go get one of her many many many novels published.
If anyone's looking for a good book to read...you can find it at a couple local Borders and also here:
